WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO SHOP CONSCIOUSLY?
Mia: “I started thinking more about sustainable fashion choices after my 6 month shopping ban project. On top of that I’ve been eating vegan for about 4 years now and that made me automatically think more about living more consciously. Step by step I made my way towards fair fashion and more and more 2nd hand shopping, the most sustainable way of shopping in my opinion.”
DO YOU REMEMBER THE TIME WHEN YOU BEGAN BEING INTERESTED IN FASHION?
Mia: “My mum played a big role. She couldn’t find the clothes she liked when she grew up and just decided to make them herself. When I grew up we often went shopping together and I really enjoyed those shopping trips! My dad is also very conscious with how he dresses and my two aunts have a great love for flea markets!”
ON HER PERSONAL STYLE:
Mia: “It’s a mix of lots of black and white clothing with a lot of boho-style influences and minimalism here and there.”

WHAT KIND OF SHOPPING CHARACTER ARE YOU?
Mia: I really like online shopping. I work a lot, I have a normal day job and next to it my blog, so basically two full time jobs. That’s why I don’t get a lot of time to stroll through shops and department stores and I hate waiting to try things on. I get really impatient. I also have a pretty good eye for styles that suit my body type so I am pretty successful at shopping online. I don’t order that much and I also don’t send that much back.
HOW DO YOU START CHOOSING AN OUTFIT?
Mia: “A normal workday morning starts out with me checking my weather app. Then I usually choose one piece that really seems to work great with the temperature for that day and I work the rest of the outfit around it. For events or parties it gets a bit trickier. I either ask my boyfriend for help (he is really good at that) or just opt for the easy solution: an all black look.”
IS THERE ANY PERSON WHO INFLUENCES YOU IN YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?
Mia: “I don’t think a particular person. Some years ago it was bloggers such as Rumi Neely or Aimee Song but since they started to wear only super crazy expensive designer clothes I couldn’t relate with their style at all anymore. Right now I draw a lot of inspiration from Pinterest, Free People lookbooks, bloggers such as TEETHAREJADE.COM, Dariadaria.com and even YouTubers like ZOELLA.”
YOUR ALL TIME FAVORITE PIECE OF CLOTHING IS? AND HOW DO YOU USUALLY COMBINE IT?
Mia: My all time favorite is definitely my bordeaux Matt & Nat bag. I’ve had it for two years now and I get compliments for it every time I wear it. You can combine it with everything, but dark autumn colors fit best with it.
WHAT IS IN YOUR HANDBAG?
Mia: “Well that will be a boring answer, my wallet, key and phone. And also usually a chopstick, my camera, a tampon and some paper garbage (receipts, paper bags from the bakery, etc). Nothing fancy or glamorous, that’s why I never did a “what’s in my bag” post on my blog :)”
YOUR FAVE FASHION DECADE?
Mia: “My favorite fashion decade is the one of the future. The whole development in wearable tech and new types of fabrics will be so exciting. Jackets that keep you automatically cool or shirts that measure your vital functions. More cool fabrics that are made from recycled ocean plastic and many more!”
DID YOU EVER HAD A FASHION FAUXPAS?
Mia: “Don’t really think I ever had a big faux pas. When I think back of course there are some outfits I really don’t understand, especially from the 90’s, but back then at that time and moment it was cool and trendy. The pictures are still funny though. 🙂 ”
