LOVJOI was founded by Verena Paul in Riedlingen, South Germany in 2014 where fairness, local sourcing, and social responsibility meet love and passion. Verena owned an organic grocery store and of course preferred sustainable fashion alternatives rather than conventional clothing but she missed eco-friendly, stylish and at the same time affordable clothing. To solve this problem she created her own label LOVJOI. All LOVJOI collections have been produced in their own in-house factory, an old VW-factory, in Riedlingen twice a year by Syrian Refugees. The integration of Syrian Refugees is a main part of LOVJOI’s vision. Khaled Barkel, who is a Syrian refugee and a constant part of the team, got a job as a tailor and also the chance to learn German by visiting language courses. The brand hires refugees on a regular basis to support their start here in Germany. LOVJOI only uses vegan and sustainable fabrics sourced from Germany and certified organic, fair cotton grown in Europe. All by-products like buttons, zippers and sewing thread are sustainably produced in Germany. LOVJOI is the perfect label for you to wear comfortable organic basics and everyday pieces with a really good feeling. If you are ever in Riedlingen, you are always welcomed to stop by their factory and say hello to the team.

The brand new eco fashion label Know The Origin was founded by Charlotte Instone and Laura Lodge in London in 2016. Before their path crossed, they both were emotionally hit by the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh. At that time Charlotte finished her Buying degree at the London College of Fashion and was deeply challenged to think about where her clothes were being made.  She traveled to places like Burkina Faso, Bangladesh, and Jordan to see the true reality of life for people in the garment industry. At the same time, Laura finished her fashion design degree at London College of Fashion and her goal was to create clothing that enables people to live, not just to survive. Laura and Charlotte met at the right time and founded Know The Origin to make a difference and to support the change in the fashion industry. The beautiful collection is fairly made by organic and fair trade producers in India. See images of their suppliers here. KTO only uses organic cotton for their basics like tees, hoodies, long sleeves dresses and sweaters. Wear them as alone pieces or as layering for colder days. We love the tees and unisex hoodies.
