ROUND + SQUARE is the upcoming accessories label with a focus on gender equality and sustainability. Founder of the New York-based label is German fashion designer Henriette Ernst who launched the brand at the annual Equality Now fundraising event in Los Angeles in 2016. Henriette graduated from the Royal Academy of Arts in Antwerp, Belgium in 1994. Originally she comes from Berlin. But she is inspired by her current hometown New York and women and girls from different communities around the world. To empower women and girls and to protect their rights around the world, Henriette has partnered with the New York-based HUMAN RIGHTS organization Equality Now. The non-profit organization receives 30% of the sale profits from the beautiful ROUND + SQUARE products like organic cotton t-shirts (GOTS certified), cashmere shawls, bandanas and embroidered accessories. Each product is made with fairness and the most ecological standards possible. The shawls are manufactured from a cashmere/silk blend by an Italian silk manufacture using their SAVEtheWATER® – Kitotex® project – which reduces water and energy consumption by 95%, through non-toxic, biocompatible and biodegradable natural materials. Our favorite pick: The classy Let’s Make Equality Reality Shawl in Navy made from a 70% Cashmere / 30% silk blend. The woven label is made out of polyester yarn of 100% recycled PET bottles. From Australia to Notting Hill. London-based hot new eco-fashion label THOREAU was founded by Australian natives Hannah Little and Owen Weatherley debuting with their Autumn/Winter 2016/17 collection in 2016. “We like to think of ourselves as the opposite of disposable, fast fashion. We are thinking about every stage of the process and seeking out solutions that minimize our impact on the world – we’re striving to strike a balance between the styling choices of the individual woman and our collective responsibility.” Little said. The debut collection includes a range of must-have wardrobe staples like the Javan dress designed with its super chic choker neckline perfectly wearable with the classy white blouse underneath at the office. All pieces are manufactured in the UK using only sustainable and recycled fabrics which are 100% cruelty-free, naturally dyed and ethically sourced. Thoreau is for women who strives for longevity and doesn´t subscribe to a `buy it, wear it, bin it`mentality with her clothes. Thoreau pieces are made to last and to wear for years to come. Our favorite pick: The Javen dress which is made from reclaimed 73% Acetate / 27% Viscose Crepe. Shop the dress below:

viu glasses

VIU was founded by a team of 5 men in Zürich, Switzerland in 2012. Any of them brings his own talent and experience to the team but with one thing in common: the merging of 3 factors into one product: 1. swiss design, 2. the highest quality standards, 3. reasonable prices. With VIU they have designed modern, unisex optical glasses and sunglasses where all 3 aspects are met. The sustainable handmade manufacturing process takes place at a traditional Italian family manufacturer in the Dolomites or in Honshu Island in Japan. For the glasses, only high-quality, anti-reflective, UV-protective lenses are used. You can find the glasses at a VIU Store in Germany and Switzerland or online where you can choose up to 4 frames to try at home. As soon as you ordered your frame, it will be delivered within 7-10 working days to your home. Our favorite pick: The Voyager glasses in gunmetal which are handmade in Japan. Shop the glasses below:
